Jewell Parkinson

Jewell is a purpose-driven human resources leader with a passion for innovation, empowering high-performance teams and delivering results.  Jewell holds a BA in Psychology and Business Administration from Millersville University, and a MS in Human Resources Development from Villanova University.  

 

A member of the West Chester community for 29 years, Jewell lives in West Goshen with her spouse, Craig.  Their two children, Camille and Chase are proud graduates of the West Chester Area School District.

 

Jewell believes it is vital that we invest in quality student-centered public education to prepare young people to thrive in an ever-changing and inner-connected world. She supports organizations and causes committed to improving people’s lives. In addition to currently serving on the WCASD school board, Jewell serves on the board of Horizons of Greater Philadelphia and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  Her leadership contributions have been recognized by Great Place to Work for All, NAFE (National Assoc. of Female Executives) and the Pennsylvania Diversity Council.

Jewell is running for WCASD School Director in Region 1 because when students thrive, communities flourish. 

She wants to make a positive difference in the lives of our children helping them grow into thriving, successful, happy, and contributing members of society.  To contribute to a culture of learning and growth where passions are ignited and pathways can be explored.  This includes empowering and uplifting educators, connecting with community members, partnering with parents and caregivers and serving with fiscal accountability while prioritizing sound governance, evidence- based solutions and policies which advance the mission of the WCASD.
